Overindulgence at Christmas?
January is always a difficult month as it’s when people take stock of their finances after Christmas and quite possibly regret having overindulged.
I’ve put some links below to some very short video stories (no longer than 2mins each) where young people tell us about their money problems. They also show us how a short video can be a great way to communicate a financial message (and one to think about for the Money for Life Challenge?)
Take Scooby for example in the first link. He went overdrawn on his bank account and tells us how he ignored the initial £28 bank charge that then spiralled out of control.
WATCH VIDEO 1:
In the second link Adila admits to being a shopaholic and has lost control of her store card spending.
WATCH VIDEO 2:
They both tell us how to seek help. (In their cases they both went to their local Citizens’ Advice Bureau.)
We might not all have overspent, but we’re all needing to cut back on our spending and save on some of those essential items. In the third video you’ll get some tips on how to cut back by using discount stores.
WATCH VIDEO 3: How budget supermarkets have saved me money
Video is a great way to get a message across VERY quickly. Have you got a story or some advice that you could share for the Money for Life Challenge? It could be a winner!
