Qualifications
Money for Life aims to deliver vital financial capability learning where it is needed most. It equips practitioners across the UK with tailored resources to improve their confidence and knowledge of financial capability and enables them to pass on that knowledge to Further Education (FE) learners and community groups.
Money for Life provides the training to enable those interested in financial capability training for FE institutions and community groups to gain one of two accredited qualifications. Both qualifications are accredited by the Open College Network in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and are also recognised to an equivalent level in Scotland.

Teach Me Financial Capability
What is it? Teach Me Financial Capability is a new qualification in Adult Financial Capability accredited by the Open College Network (OCN).
Who is it for? The course is for anyone who is looking to improve their knowledge of financial capability. It is particularly appropriate to FE practitioners, teachers and community workers.
Tell me about the course… You will complete the course through interactive online learning which is broken down into bite-sized chunks. It covers a series of financial topics and will give you a good understanding of key financial products, the implications of financial exclusion and sources of advice and support.
The course takes approximately 30 hours to complete plus the final assignment. Once you have completed the course, you will achieve a nationally recognised qualification in Adult Financial Capability.

Teach Others Financial Capability
What is it? Teach Others Financial Capability is a new qualification which will enable those who are not qualified teachers – such as community or advice workers – to plan and facilitate financial capability sessions and workshops.
Who is it for? Those working or volunteering in non-teaching positions within FE, outreach centres and key agencies in the community.
Tell me about the course… The aim of this short course is to enable those working in non-teaching positions within FE, outreach centres and key agencies in the community to be able to teach others financial capability. By undertaking the course, you will gain:
- basic facilitation skills
- the confidence to deliver short programmes or workshops
- a nationally recognised qualification
A two day taught curriculum will enable participants to achieve a recognised qualification in Teaching Financial Capability and be able to deliver training to support their clients.
